Peter Jackson Parks: Born March, 1947 in Long Island, NY has been creating contemporary paintings since 1970. He has shown coast to coast in the United States, and new work can be viewed here: https://www.instagram.com/peterparkspaintings/
He studied at the Art Students League in New York City, NY and the Art Institute in San Fransisco, CA. He has lived in Greece, Switzerland, Italy and Mexico. He is a Vietnam War combat veteran (Army - Airborne) 1966-1967. He has been based over the years in New York City, NY Taos, NM, and currently Seattle, WA. He has been collected by museums, purchased for private collections*, honored with awards and been a part of numerous galleries. He has been included in art books**, interviewed on film and written up in various articles. He's had work stolen, lost, handed down, dug out of the trash and cherished. His work has been loved and he's been told he can't paint. It's been a long road! The rough and ready, straightforward style is looking to find the path, the peace, through color and line, leaving it intentionally loose. His work is mysterious, misleadingly simple, with so much richness, detail and experience exposed over time. He continues painting at 79. Selections:
